The Bahamas is part of the Caribbean Islands and is made up of more than 700 islands and cays. Most of the travelers who come to this destination are attracted by the beaches. The beaches are characterized by soft, limestone-white sands and shallow shorelines. The culturally-rich vacation destination lies less than sixty miles off the Florida coast and allows travelers in the United States and other parts of the world to experience a world away from the obvious.
Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas and receives the largest number of tourists than the rest. The island also has the highest number of people living in the Bahamas. It features a wide range of restaurant options, a vibrant nightlife, and mega hotels.
The Out Islands offer outdoor adventures, scheduled beaches, ocean-fresh dining not to forget the peaceful communities involved in farming and fishing. You’ll realize that each of the Out Islands has its own uniqueness. For example Andros is known for crabbing, blue hoe exploring, and fly fishing while Harbour Island has luxurious, boutique hotels and holiday homes.
When should you Visit the Bahamas?
The first thing you should know is that the Bahamas has an average of three hundred and forty sunny days in a year. The peak season is usually experienced between December and April a time when it is most dry with temperatures of about 26 degrees to 28 degrees. Hotel rates during this time are at their highest. Grand Bahama and Nassau Island receives many Spring Breakers between February and March.
The hurricane season runs from June to November and is usually the lowest season when it comes to visitors. Most attractions, restaurants, and Hotels in the Bahamas tend to close between August and October. The best time to go for vacation in the Bahamas is from late April to June. My arborist back in Arizona loves to bring his family here at the beginning of June, when the weather is just starting to become unbearable in Phoenix. It’s a nice little break for them. You can check his business out at surprisetreeservices.com. At this time of year in the Bahamas, you can enjoy the low season rates as well as benefit from the great weather condition.
Remember to visit the Pink Sands resort and the Arawak Cay, snorkel off the coast, relax at Atlantis Waterscape, stroll through downtown Nassau, and try the “goombay smash” drink.
